Regular international tournaments held in Wales:

Welsh & Open Indoor Championships

1 x IFAA Indoor Round, shot in January each year.
WFAA members shoot for Welsh Championships, Open Championships for non-WFAA archers who are members of an IFAA affiliated governing body

Welsh & Open Field Archery Championships
1 x Field Round, 1 x Hunter Round, plus team championships, shot in April
WFAA members shoot for Welsh Championships, Open Championships for non-WFAA archers who are members of an IFAA affiliated governing body

Welsh Open 3D Championships
1 x Unmarked 3D, 1 x Marked 3D, shot in June
This tournament is fully open to WFAA members and non-WFAA archers who are members of an IFAA affiliated governing body

Welsh Field Masters Tour (Open Championship)
Caradog Shoot, 1 x Marked Animal Round, shot in February
St David Shoot, 1 x Field Round, shot in March
Owain Glyndwr Shoot, 1 x Hunter Round, Shot in July
Hywel y Dda Shoot, 1 x Marked Forester Round, shot in September
Llewelyn Fawr Shoot, 1 x International Round, shot in October
 


Domestic Tournaments in Wales:

New for 2009, WFAA has set up a domestic series of 9 domestic tournaments which run throughout the year at different courses:

Brecon Grand Hunter Shoot, February, Woodland Park, Brecon, Powys
The Cabin Cup, March, HCE Canada Lakes, Creigau, Cardiff
The Fonmon Challenge, April, Fonmon Castle, Vale of Glamorgan
Woodland Park Open, May, Woodland Park, Brecon, Powys
Fonmon Spring Shoot, May, Fonmon Castle, Vale of Glamorgan
Dinefwr Summer Shoot, August, Llanwrdda, near Llandeilo, Ceredigion
Draig Goch Open, October, Draig Goch Archers, Mold
The Red Oak Open, HCE Canada Lakes, Creigau, Cardiff
Dinefwr Winter Shoot, November, Llanwrdda, near Llandeilo, Ceredigion

All of the domestic tournaments are fully open to all archers who belong to an IFAA affiliated governing body.
 


International Tournaments:

UK & Isle of Ireland Field Archery Championships

1 x Field Round, 1 x Hunter Round, plus home nation team championships
This tournament is open to members of WFAA, SFAA, EFAA & IFAF. Guests may enter at discretion of hosts
Wales hosts this tournament every fourth year

Greene King Challenge Cup
Team event involving Welsh vs English archers at the English National Championships
1 x Field Round, 1 x Hunter Round
WFAA archers can shoot individually as guests at this tournament

European Field Archery Championships
2 x Field Round, 2 x Hunter Round, 1 x Marked Animal Round
Held every two years throughout Europe
The next tournament will be in Wales in 2009

World Field Archery Championships
2 x Field Round, 2 x Hunter Round, 1 x Marked Animal Round
Held every two years rotating around each continent
The next tournament will be in Germany in 2010

World Indoor Championships
4 x IFAA Indoor Round
Held every year on a winning bid basis
The next tournament will be in Argentina in 2009

European Bowhunter Championships
5 days shooting, mixture of marked and unmarked 3D and paper rounds
Held every two years throughout Europe
The next tournament will be in Austria in 2010

World Bowhunter Championships
5 days shooting, mixture of marked and unmarked 3D and paper rounds
Held every two years throughout Europe
The next tournament will be in the USA in 2009
