The WFAA is proud to present the Welsh Open 3D
Championships 2008. After an encouraging start last year when we held the
first 3D Championships, we are hoping that this year's championship will be
even better. We
are aiming to make the event as exciting and enjoyable as possible for our members and
for visiting members. The hosts for this tournament will once again be Hawk Archers. The course we will be shooting forms part of the area which will play host the the European Field Archery Championships in July 2009. As with last year's tournament, the course will be laid from scratch especially for this event. In order to encourage competition, this event is fully open to all archers who are members of an IFAA affiliated governing body. Last year's format was received well by those who shot
the tournament so this will remain unchanged for 2008. We were encouraged by
attendance last year and the feedback from those who took part was very
encouraging. Those who had not shot bowhunter tournaments before appeared in
many cases to have 'caught the bug'. If you shot last year and enjoyed
yourself, please tell your clubmates as we need to improve attendance at
this event this year. If you have not shot 3D targets before, please come
along and try it out. It is good fun and well worth trying! |

Useful Information:
Facilities The club has a permanent toilet block, ample car parking and catering will be provided for the tournament. Practice butts will be provided for the shoot.
The Shoot Format Day 2 will be a 3 shot unmarked 3D round. This will effectively be an unmarked Big Game round except that we will be shooting at 3D targets instead of paper faces. The 3D animals will conform to IFAA size groups for the Big Game round. This will be the same as that shot at the IFAA World 3D Champs last year.
